As you settle in to feed your new baby, this person brings you a healthy, easy to eat snack and a big glass of water. While you feed your baby, this nurturing helper gets a load of laundry going and takes care of the dishes in the sink.

This person also holds and entertains baby while you take a much needed shower and/ or nap. When you have questions about your newborns appearance or behavior, this person is a well of knowledge on all things newborns and postpartum recovery

I am a dedicated postpartum doula meaning that my sole focus and passion is on postpartum support. No worrying about other clients going into labor or  your doula possibly being double booked. I work with no more than 3 families each month, so that I can really focus in on your needs and provide the highest quality of care.

I bring a dual mother and family centered approach to postpartum support. I focus on the newborn mothers needs and work within the existing the family support network to make sure those needs are met.

When you choose The Prima Doula as your postpartum care provider you will receive:

  • 1-2 Prenatal Education and Planning sessions to help guide you in your new role. Choose from one of my classes focused on preparing and planning for postpartum peace or I can create a custom lesson based on your specific needs.
  • Ongoing In-home Support for you as you recover from pregnancy and childbirth and adjust to parenting your new baby. Continuous physical and emotional support service help hold your postpartum space and promote rest and recovery.
  • Unlimited Phone & Email Support throughout the first year of your postpartum recovery.
  • Access to planning and pampering services like a the New Mother Celebration or Closing Ceremony and Postpartum Belly Wrapping.



Types of Postpartum Care


Daytime Care: an extra pair of hands so you can focus on your baby. Each visit is scheduled in 4 hour increment for half or full day care and is perfect for daytime, evening or weekend care – whatever is right for your family!

Overnight Care: get some sleep with peace of mind. Each overnight visit lasts 8 or 10  hours up to 5 nights per week. Schedule your overnight care anytime between the hours of 8 pm and 6 am.

Planning Your Postpartum Doula Care

With Prima Postpartum Services, you are in control of your postpartum experience.

Reserve as much or as little postpartum doula care as you feel you need. Some families like to schedule one postpartum visit first to try out the services and make sure they a good match for their needs. 

Other families decide they want ongoing postpartum support and choose to purchase 20, 40, 100 postpartum hours (or more) so that they know they will have their postpartum doula ready and available for as long as they need.

Here are some example of some of the different ways families have scheduled and used their postpartum doula hours:

20 hours:
Five daytime visits lasting 4 hours each
Two overnight visits
A combo of three daytime visits and one overnight visit 
40 hours:
10 daytime visits lasting 4 hours each
Four overnight visits
A combo of three overnight visits and three daytime visits
100 hours:
Twenty-five daytime visits (5 weeks of daily weekday care)
Eleven overnight visits 
A combo of sixteen daytime visits and four overnight visits
A combo of seven daytime visits and eight overnight visits

Based on your tentative schedule for postpartum care now, I will create personalized package of postpartum hours to fit your needs. You can even add on any of my prenatal or postpartum services to create an even more custom fit experience.
